King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima paid a working visit to the federal states Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland from 9 to 12 October 2018. Under the leadership of Minister for Foreign Trade Sigrid Kaag and Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge, a group of innovative Dutch companies took part in the trade mission. ConnectedCare was also present!
The many working visits to hospitals, nursing homes and health insurers showed that the German health challenges are very similar to the Dutch situation. Both Germany and The Netherlands face an ageing population, a shortage of healthcare professionals, and tendency towards self-management. Whereas the Netherlands has many eHealth initiatives, the German healthcare market however is more traditional. All stakeholders do however indicate their ambition to innovate and progress in terms of eHealth.
ConnectedCare has presented the ConnectedCare care collaboration platform and the MedGUIDE medication adherence platform to nursing homes, health insurers and hospitals. Both platforms were received very positively, and if all goes well, we will start a first pilot in Germany early 2019.
